Healthy Study Snacks…

We often neglect our body and brains when we work hard or are studying for exams. Yet these pressurised times are when our body requires extra-special care, especially good food! Here are some healthy snack ideas to support your body and brains through intense study times.

 

  • Vegetables and fruit are nature’s power-packed quick snacks. Besides the convenience of peeling a banana or crunching into an apple, fruit and vegetables are a great source of vitamins, minerals and healthy sugar which your body uses as energy.
  • Berries are known to help memory and focus. They are also full of vitamin C. So, just rinse your berries and let studying be a great excuse for those yummy, memory-aiding delights!
  • Whole grains are brilliant for energy. Slow releasing low GI foods give you a sustainable energy supply, helping your concentration levels. A quick slice of wholegrain bread toasted with some peanut butter or cream cheese makes a quick, healthy, whole grain snack.
  • Nuts and seeds are wonderful brain food. Walnuts, for example are high in vitamin E and Omega-3 – both vital for brain function, and pumpkin seeds are a great source of zinc, which helps memory and thinking skills. There is also no preparation needed, making them a very convenient brain food!
