Pre-geriatric study on Bio-Strath

A three-month placebo-controlled study determined that the use of Bio-Strath® can slow or reverse the development of geriatric disorders. The general condition of patients receiving Bio- Strath® tablets or liquid improved significantly compared to placebo as did short-term memory, physical exercise tests, recovery time and age related physical symptoms. The results of an overall medical assessment improved by 82% in those who received Bio-Strath® liquid, 66% in those who received tablets and only 27% in those on placebo.

Pre-Alzheimer study

Patients between the age of 57 and 84 with advanced geriatric symptoms, the majority of which had pre-Alzheimer’s problems were given Bio-Strath® for 3 months or placebo. Those who received Bio-Strath® experienced significant improvements over placebo with regards to fatigue, headaches, dizziness, sleep problems as well as improved mental alertness, emotional stability and mood. Overall geriatric symptom scores (GESY) also improved significantly as did the ability to speak numbers backwards (a highly demanding psychometric test), scores measuring other related geriatric diseases also improved significantly compared to placebo.

The effect of a food supplement on the behaviour of children with attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD)

18 children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD were treated with Bio-Strath® for 6 weeks, not a single adverse event was reported, and two thirds of the children experienced various significant improvements in terms of objective visual and auditory performance measurements. Bio-Strath® particularly improved auditory prudence, vigilance & impulsivity as well as visual consistency and focus.

The effect of a food supplement on the behaviour and health of children with special needs

Sixty-four children in a special needs school were given Bio-Strath® for a period of 20 weeks; the incidence of colds & flu amongst the children were comparably lower than local averages furthermore absenteeism amongst the children decreased by 42% while on Bio-Strath®. Concentration improved in 56% of children and distraction improved in 67% of children. Other parameters such as restlessness, agitation, disturbing lessons and others either stabilized or improved in the majority of the children. Bio-Strath® thus offered protection against illness in winter and resulted in an overall improvement in learning behaviour.

Improvement of bio-availability of minerals and vitamin B1 thanks to Strath® Original herbal yeast.

Using an in vitro experiment simulating the human digestive system the application of Bio-Strath® resulted in six times more Magnesium & Zinc, five times more Iron and up to 10 times more Vitamin B1 being absorbed. Since the absorption of all micronutrients tested were improved significantly it is presumed that Bio-Strath® would improve the absorption of other vital substances too.

Haemoglobin levels during pregnancy

A study on pregnant women given Bio-Strath® found that it effectively maintains haemoglobin of pregnant women throughout pregnancy without additional vitamin or iron supplements, and when anaemia was present, the use of Bio-Strath® together with iron supplements enhanced the assimilation of the supplement. Bio-Strath® also helped maintain a sense of general wellbeing and vitality during pregnancy. The study concluded that acting as a ‘catalyst’, Bio-Strath® enhances the body’s ability to assimilate iron from a normal, healthy diet and improves assimilation of iron supplementation.

Influenza and colds in winter? Prophylaxis with a food supplement in comparison with the influenza vaccination

The preventative effect of Bio-Strath® (tablets & liquid) against colds and flu was compared against the influenza vaccine and control in 232 patients during winter, those who received Bio- Strath® reported better results with respect to general condition, concentration, fatigue, vitality and stress and fewer absences from work than the influenza vaccine group or the control group.

Increasing powers of concentration

Twenty-four 14yr old schoolgirls treated with Bio-Strath® for 10 weeks experienced significant improvement in arithmetic & language ability attributed to improved concentration, endurance and memory and simultaneously benefited from significantly less absences from school due to illness; i.e. 1.9 lessons periods lost in those on Bio-Strath® vs 8.6 in those not.

Experimental trial of a yeast supplement during a period of high physical exertion

35 Finnish athletes given Bio-Strath® in a seven-week, controlled trial experienced improved performance in an endurance run test and 86% experienced improved appetite, digestion and sleep. Coaches also reported athletes taking Bio-Strath® as having improved concentration, quicker recovery after exercise, these improvements were attributed to Bio-Strath’s ability to correct nutritional deficiencies experienced by the athletes.

Influence of Bio-Strath® on osteogensis

A laboratory-based bone density study found that the application of Bio-Strath® caused bone building (osteoblast) cells to mature & develop, in addition Bio-Strath® reduced the formation of cells that break down bone (osteoclasts), when treating osteoporosis ideally there should be more osteoblast activity and less osteoclast activity. Bio-Strath® does this by producing two proteins known to prevent osteoporosis (OPG & RUNX2). When combined with a combination of bone building substances Bio-Strath® resulted in an enhanced effect suggesting that Bio-Strath® in combination with drug therapy could be successful in osteoporosis.

Natural food supplement during convalescence

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study on cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy Bio- Strath® resulted in significantly improved physical activity, appetite and general health condition compared to those who received placebo who experienced deterioration in these points. Placebo participants generally lost weight during and after radiotherapy, however those who received Bio- Strath® were able to maintain or gain weight during and after radiotherapy, the similar occurred for haemoglobin; the use of Bio-Strath® preventing decrease in haemoglobin experienced significantly in the placebo group. By improving appetite and nutrition Bio-Strath® was thus able to combat the negative impact on physical activity, appetite, weight general health and haemoglobin experienced by cancer patients receiving radiotherapy treatment.

Strengthening endogenous defences the effect of a yeast supplement, Bio-Strath (Strath), on cell proliferation (cell reproduction)

Low gravity conditions are known to impact negatively on cell growth and activation; immune cells (Lymphocytes) subjected to these conditions were treated with Bio-Strath® and it was found that despite the strong inhibitory effects of low gravity immune cell activation occurred when these cells were treated with Bio-Strath®.
